How might educational leaders use blogs?
I believe that blogging can be an effective communication tool for educational leaders. According to The Principal as Action Research, "Thinking is a challenge for any researcher...Weblogs are another excellent way principal-researchers can capture their thinking. " (Dana, 2009) One of the major problems in schools today is not only how to get the students thinking but how to evaluate it. Blogging also is a way that you can voice your thinking based on facts you have researched along with receiving valuable feedback on your research. Dana states, "The comment feature of blogs allows principal-researchers to receive feedback from anyone in the world..." (Dana, 2009) With blogs, I believe the the Principal-researcher will gain more knowledge and have a great way to journal their findings.

Casey,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I am even thinking about using a blog to collect information from my students in a classroom setting. I think it would be another way to assess the students to determine if they understood the material or the concept studied in class.
Casey,
ReplyDeleteI know that prior to this class that I've heard of and even read some blogs, but for some reason I had never thought about how valuable they could be in education. I too am excited about the possibility of getting my team or even my students on board with following a blog; and maybe even parents...wouldn't that be a great way to share some thoughts about class?
